The Cultural Committee of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Management and Technology (SGTBIMIT) plays a vital role in enriching campus life by fostering creativity, cultural awareness, leadership, and holistic personality development among students. The committee is committed to providing a vibrant platform where students can explore and showcase their artistic, literary, and performing talents while promoting the rich cultural heritage and values of the nation. Throughout the academic year, the committee plans, coordinates, and successfully organizes a wide range of cultural events, competitions, celebrations, and student engagement activities that encourage participation, teamwork, confidence, and inclusivity.

During the Academic Year 2025–26, the Cultural Committee organized numerous events that witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members. The most prominent event of the year was the Vaisakhi Mela, celebrated with great enthusiasm and grandeur. The event served as a vibrant celebration of Punjabi culture and traditions while promoting the spirit of unity and cultural diversity. A variety of competitions were organized, including Rangoli MakingPainting CompetitionGurmat CompetitionPoetry Recitation, and the Khalsa Strength Competition, providing students with opportunities to exhibit their creativity, artistic excellence, literary skills, spiritual understanding, and physical strength.

The grand celebration commenced with an energetic Band Show, setting a festive tone for the entire event. Mesmerizing performances of Bhangra and Gidda enthralled the audience and showcased the vibrancy of Punjab's rich cultural heritage. One of the major attractions of the Vaisakhi Mela was the Coin Exhibition, which displayed an impressive collection of historical and commemorative coins. The exhibition generated immense interest among students and visitors by offering valuable insights into India's historical and cultural legacy.

The committee also organized the annual Freshers' Party to warmly welcome the newly admitted students into the SGTBIMIT family. Held in a banquet hall, the event provided an excellent opportunity for freshers to interact with their seniors and faculty members in a friendly and encouraging environment. The programme featured cultural performances, music, dance, talent showcases, games, and interactive activities that helped students build confidence, develop friendships, and become an integral part of the institutional community.

Another significant event organized by the Cultural Committee was the Farewell Party, conducted every year in a banquet hall to bid a heartfelt farewell to the graduating students. The programme celebrated the achievements and memorable journey of the outgoing batch. Students were honoured with personalized tags and special trophies recognizing their talents, achievements, and unique contributions to campus life. The event included captivating cultural performances, music, dance, entertainment segments, fun-filled games, and emotional speeches by faculty members and students, creating lasting memories for everyone present.

Through these initiatives, the Cultural Committee continues to promote creativity, teamwork, discipline, leadership, and cultural appreciation among students. The successful organization of cultural events throughout the academic year reflects the institute's commitment to holistic education by nurturing well-rounded individuals who excel not only in academics but also in cultural, social, and personal development. The committee remains dedicated to creating an inclusive, vibrant, and culturally enriching environment that inspires students to participate actively, celebrate diversity, and uphold the rich traditions and values of society.
