Sports Committee

About Society

The Sports Committee of SGTBIMIT is dedicated to fostering a culture of fitness, discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship among students. Recognizing the vital role of sports in the holistic development of individuals, the committee works throughout the year to encourage active participation in a variety of sporting and recreational activities.

The committee organizes numerous intra-college and inter-college events, tournaments, and sports meets that provide students with opportunities to develop their athletic abilities, leadership skills, and team spirit. Events are conducted across a range of outdoor and indoor sports, including cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, badminton, table tennis, athletics, chess, and other recreational games. These activities not only promote physical well-being but also help students build confidence, resilience, and a spirit of healthy competition.

A key responsibility of the Sports Committee is to identify and nurture sporting talent within the institute. The committee actively encourages students to participate in university-level, state-level, and national-level competitions and facilitates their representation in tournaments organized by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) and other reputed institutions. Students are provided guidance, support, and opportunities to showcase their skills on larger platforms, bringing laurels to the institute through their achievements.

The committee also collaborates with various student bodies and institutional departments to organize annual sports festivals, fitness drives, awareness campaigns, and special sporting events that enhance student engagement and campus life. Through its continuous efforts, the Sports Committee strives to create an inclusive and vibrant sporting environment where every student is motivated to pursue excellence, maintain a healthy lifestyle, and develop values that contribute to both personal and professional success.
